France Football magazine revealed on Tuesday the 30 players nominated for the 2026 Ballon d'Or, the main individual award in world football. Among the candidates is Brazilian defender Gabriel Magalhães from Arsenal, who appears on the list of nominees for the world's best player award.
The award ceremony is scheduled for October 26 in London, England. The list of candidates brings together athletes who stood out during the period between August 1, 2025 and July 31, 2026, an interval that includes competitions such as the Champions League, national championships, and the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
The winner of the 2026 Ballon d'Or will succeed Frenchman Ousmane Dembélé from Paris Saint-Germain, who was elected in 2025 after winning the Champions League. The selection of award winners is made by a college of journalists.
