PSD publicly expressed its support for Luís Neves and accused Chega of practicing a "scorched earth" policy against the minister. The defense came in response to the criticisms that the far-right party has been directing at the government official.

António Rodrigues, on behalf of PSD, stated that Luís Neves has "had a good performance" in carrying out his duties. The social-democratic official also highlighted the minister's commitment, noting that he "went to the airport at 5 in the morning" with the aim of personally monitoring and evaluating the performance on the ground.

The PSD's attack on Chega comes in a context of political tension between the two parties. Rodrigues expressed his displeasure regarding the stance of the far-right party, stating that "I regret the nervousness and anxiety of the party," in reference to the constant attacks against the executive.

The PSD's staunch defense of Luís Neves contrasts with Chega's firm opposition to the minister, which has been demanding his resignation. This situation illustrates the divisions in the Portuguese political landscape and the ideological confrontation between the two parties.
