Senators heard by GLOBO acknowledge that this scenario may advance, but not before the elections. The assessment is that the new episode should not change the posture of Senate President Davi Alcolumbre (União-AP), who had been signaling to interlocutors his intention to hold back any initiative in this regard until the completion of the Election.
Alcolumbre's allies assess that the measure increases pressure directly on him, who is responsible for deciding on the progress of impeachment requests against Supreme Court ministers, but they do not see any willingness on his part to alter the strategy adopted so far.
The expectation is that Alcolumbre will continue to hold back initiatives in this regard as much as possible, maintaining the posture he had been adopting even in the face of the escalation of the crisis between the branches of government.
