Minister André Mendonça, of the Supreme Federal Court, stated having been target of systematic and illegal monitoring carried out by the Federal Police intelligence area for more than a month. In a decision made from a request by the Novo party, Mendonça removed the director-general of the PF, Andrei Rodrigues.
The magistrate listed six reports produced between August 3 and 31 that contained analyses of his actions and his relationship with the Attorney General, Jorge Messias. According to the minister, the material reveals the conduct of monitoring and directed collection both over him and over Messias.
For Mendonça, the practice configures illicit monitoring of a minister of the Supreme Court of the country. The statement is contained in a decision in which the minister analyzes intelligence documents produced within the Federal Police itself.
