Lousada will mark European Mobility Week with an activity dedicated to the bicycle and sustainable mobility. The initiative, integrated in the BioLousada program, is scheduled for 9:30 AM on September 19 and aims to bring together children and adults for a morning dedicated to exercise, socializing and contact with the territory.
The activity, called "Cirandar", will allow participants to try electric and conventional bicycles on a circuit through some streets of the city. The proposal comes through the EduBicla project and aims to show that the bicycle can be a viable alternative for daily commutes, contributing to more sustainable mobility.
The initiative is aimed at the whole family, allowing adults and children to try different types of bicycles in a relaxed and supervised context. More than promoting the use of this means of transportation, the activity seeks to raise awareness about forms of mobility with less environmental impact.
BioLousada is an environmental awareness program created in 2016 by the Municipality of Lousada, in partnership with the BioLiving Association and with the support of the University of Aveiro. Over the years, the program has developed various actions to raise awareness about the municipality's fauna and flora, involving the population in the discovery and appreciation of the local natural heritage.
