The TVE News Council issued a protest statement against the interview of the president of the Spanish government, Pedro Sánchez, on the program "Mañaneros 360." This internal body of the public broadcaster considered the situation "of extreme gravity."
The interview, conducted on Wednesday, September 9, at 11:00 a.m., took place at the Prado del Rey studios and was conducted by journalists Jesús Cintora and Esther Palomera. It was Sánchez's first television appearance after the migration crisis in Ceuta.
The News Council, which represents the information professionals of TVE, expressed its protest through the statement, likely denouncing the lack of editorial independence or the way the interview was organized within the RTVE structure.
This situation opened a new rift within the Spanish public broadcasting company, exacerbating the existing internal conflicts regarding editorial management and the informative independence of the public entity.
