For 100 days, thousands of people have taken to the streets in Albania to protest against the construction of a luxury tourism development associated with the family of former United States President Donald Trump. The protests are taking place in an environmentally protected area of the country.
The mobilization, nicknamed the "Flamingo Revolution", has gained significant popular support. The demonstrators are demanding the project's halt, repeating as their slogan the phrase "Albania is not for sale".
The resort in question is part of a tourism development project on the Albanian coast, in an area that specialists and environmentalists consider to be of high ecological value and that should be protected from developments of this scale.
The protest organizers continue to call on the Albanian government to abandon the agreement with the Trump family and preserve the natural area in question.
