Judge Juan Carlos Peinado, who has been processing the wife of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, acknowledged in a provision issued this Monday that his vacation plan is approved from tomorrow, September 9, through the 18th of the same month. This was the reason he scheduled for Tuesday at 6:00 PM a final preliminary hearing with Begoña Gómez and her assistant Cristina Álvarez, at the Moncloa.
The judge showed himself open to postponing this hearing should the defense attorneys of the accused request it, since he publicly recognizes that his vacation departure was the reason for scheduling the session in a timely manner. The hearing aims to finalize the investigation phase before the opening of the trial before a jury court.
Begoña Gómez and Cristina Álvarez face this legal proceedings taking place at Courthouse number 41 of Madrid. Judge Peinado has been conducting this investigation that led to the processing of the wife of the Spanish head of government. The possibility of postponing the hearing now depends on a formal request from the defense attorneys of the accused.
