São Paulo's Civil Police arrested on Friday members of the upper echelon of a criminal faction that monitored the activity of security agents in Jundiaí (SP). The Public Security Department reported that the group is also suspected of drug trafficking and of ordering torture and executions.

The investigations lasted six months and revealed that the organization maintained a clandestine monitoring center equipped with cameras and communication radios to spy on the movements of authorities.

During the operation, police seized from the suspects' residences 1.3 thousand bags of cocaine, 4.7 kilos of cocaine, portions of marijuana, a firearm with scraped-off serial numbers, paraphernalia for preparing narcotics, notes from the drug trafficking accounting, precision scales, a sealer, communication radios and R$ 10 thousand in cash.
