Trump publishes map with US flag covering Mexico, Caribbean and Canada

Donald Trump shared on Monday a map on his social media platform, Truth Social, on which the red and white stripes of the American flag cover Mexico, the Caribbean and Canada, as well as Greenland and Iceland. The map shows the US flag overlaid on these territories, which are currently not part of the country. This post comes in a context where Trump has made several statements about the possibility of acquiring territories such as Greenland and Canada, having even suggested that Canada could become the "51st state." The map was shared through the platform the former president created after being banned from major social networks.
