The Ukrainian Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, occupied by Russia since March 2022, has restored its external power connection after nearly three weeks of interruption. The critical infrastructure of the plant had been without electrical connection for nearly three weeks, which represented a significant risk situation for the nuclear safety of the facility. The restoration of the connection now allows the operation of the reactor cooling systems and other essential functions of the plant. The Zaporizhzhia plant is Europe's largest nuclear power plant and has been the subject of international concerns since the beginning of the Russian occupation of Ukrainian territory.
