The Dutch footballer Georginio Wijnaldum was officially presented as the new player of Al Ittihad, a club in Saudi Arabia. The 35-year-old international midfielder will continue his career in Saudi football after his spell at Al-Ettifaq.
Wijnaldum arrived at Al-Ettifaq in 2023, a club that is also coached by a Dutchman, where he remained for one season. His transfer to Al Ittihad represents a continuation of his stay in the Saudi league.
The player has amassed extensive experience in European football, having represented clubs such as Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Newcastle United, in addition to Feyenoord, his youth club. His international career with the Dutch national team includes over 80 caps.
Al Ittihad, a club based in Jeddah, is one of the main teams in Saudi football and has invested significantly in internationally renowned players in recent years, in a strategy similar to that of other clubs in the country.
