Bad weather: Leiria approves financial line for residential facilities to purchase generators

SAPO Notícias7 September 2026 at 19:05

The municipality of Leiria approved today the creation of a financial line for private social solidarity institutions that have residential facility capacity. This measure comes as a response to the problems caused by bad weather.

The financial line aims to allow these institutions to purchase emergency generators. The objective is to ensure that residential facilities can maintain proper operation during bad weather situations.

Private social solidarity institutions operating residential facilities within the municipality of Leiria may apply for this financial line. These institutions will thus be able to strengthen their response capacity in the face of adverse weather conditions.
