The Uruguayan winger Zalazar revealed, in an interview with German newspaper Kicker, the phrase from Sporting president Frederico Varandas that convinced him to sign for the Portuguese club. The player, who was already accustomed to playing in Europe with PAOK of Greece, decided to accept the Lions' offer after the conversation with the green and white leader.
Zalazar became Sporting's most expensive signing in history, which has brought him increased pressure since his arrival at the club from Alvalade. The winger acknowledged feeling the weight of meeting the expectations generated by such a high investment on the part of the Portuguese club.
The Uruguayan, who came to Sporting from PAOK, already had European experience before joining Portuguese football. His spell in Greece allowed him to adapt to the pace of European football, which may facilitate his integration into the Alvalade team.
