A dog was found alive, but completely abandoned, in an apartment in the city of Syracuse, in the state of New York, United States, last month. The owner of the property simply left and left the animal alone at the location, without any care or assistance.
When rescuers removed the dog from the apartment, they were shocked by her condition. The animal presented bright yellow-colored fur, something extremely unusual. They immediately sent photos of the animal to Friends Forever Animal Rescue, the shelter that would be responsible for her rehabilitation.
Upon receiving the images, the shelter team members were amazed by the animal's abnormal coloration. Initially, they thought the yellow stains could be the result of accumulated urine, something common in dogs that live in unhealthy conditions for long periods.
However, upon arriving at the shelter and giving the dog a bath, the volunteers realized that the coloration was not urine. The stain would not come out or fade, and there was also no characteristic bad smell. The exact origin of the yellow coloration remains unexplained by the rescuers.
