Spain consumes approximately three million pizzas per week, consolidating this dish as the leader in the prepared dishes segment. The pizza market showed a growth of 2.6% in 2025, demonstrating its stable popularity among Spanish consumers.
Of the total pizzas consumed weekly, between 60% and 65% come from supermarkets, including chilled and frozen pizzas. The remaining, between 35% and 40%, is purchased in the restaurant sector, through delivery services and pizzerias.
This consumption pattern intensifies with the return to routine in September, when school activities resume and families turn to quick meals for lunch and simpler dinners. Prepared dishes in general gain prominence during this period, replacing summer products like gazpachos and salmorejos with packaged broths, Italian pasta or rice dishes.
