Coimbra hosts, for the first time, the Pink October Run, an initiative of the Portuguese League Against Cancer – Central Regional Branch. The event aims to raise awareness about the prevention and early diagnosis of breast cancer, the central theme of the international Pink October campaign.
The run features the participation of hundreds of people who demonstrate support for the cause, dressing in pink in solidarity with the victims and survivors of the disease. The initiative also aims to alert people to the importance of regular screenings and self-care.
The Portuguese League Against Cancer – Central Regional Branch is the organizing entity responsible for promoting this action in Coimbra, thus joining other Portuguese cities that annually promote similar events during the month of October.
