Volkswagen announced the sale of its factory in Osnabrück, located in northern Germany. The company reached an agreement with the state of Lower Saxony and Aurelius Capital to complete this transaction.
The factory will be converted for weapons production. This change of direction represents a significant alteration in the industrial vocation of the complex.
The state of Lower Saxony participated in this sale agreement, demonstrating the interest of regional authorities in converting the facility to the defense sector. Aurelius Capital, an investment company specializing in the acquisition of industrial assets, is the other party involved in the transaction.
