The investment house AlphaValue cut the target price for Galp Energia, according to a note cited by Bloomberg. The recommendation for the Portuguese oil company was maintained at "reduce," indicating that analysts believe the stock should underperform the market.
Despite the target price cut, Galp Energia is the best-performing company on the Lisbon stock exchange since the beginning of the year. This suggests that, despite AlphaValue's cautious view, the market has positively evaluated the company.
The maintenance of the "reduce" recommendation indicates that AlphaValue believes Galp's shares are overvalued compared to their lowered target price. However, the oil company's positive performance on the stock exchange contrasts with this pessimistic outlook from the investment house.
