Public passenger transport companies warn that the end of fuel support puts service continuity at risk. The Association representing the sector calculates an additional cost of 15 million euros between July and September, resulting from the escalation of fuel prices.
The increase in operational costs threatens the financial sustainability of transport companies, which depend heavily on fuel prices to maintain services. Without the government support that existed previously, companies face difficulties in absorbing these increases.
Given this situation, the sector is asking the Government to maintain fuel support to guarantee the continuity of public transport. The Association argues that without this measure, many companies may have difficulties operating.
The alert comes at a time of economic pressure on transport operators, who are simultaneously facing increased fuel costs and the need to maintain essential services for the population.
