"The mission begins now" for new U.Porto students

The University of Porto will hold on September 16, at 3 PM, the traditional New Students Reception Session 2026/2027. The event, which marks the official start of the academic year for new students, will take place at Praça de Gomes Teixeira, next to the Rectory, and in the surrounding area.

This year, the reception will be themed and will adopt the motto "Retro Gaming," inspired by electronic games from previous decades. The choice of theme aims to create a differentiated and interactive experience for students beginning their academic journey at the university.

The session features the presence of the main figures of the institution, including the rector of U.Porto and other academic representatives. The new students are expected in large numbers for this ceremony that symbolizes the start of their academic journey.
