The Portuguese construction company Mota-Engil saw its contract in Mozambique reinforced with a deal valued at 178 million euros. The contract comes through a consortium formed with the Italian company Bonatti Spa.
The project is located on the Afungi peninsula, in the province of Cabo Delgado, a region that has been the scene of significant investment in the energy sector. The objective of this contract is to explore the vast natural gas reserves located in the Rovuma Basin.
This contract represents another step in Mota-Engil's strategy to reinforce its presence in the Mozambican market, where the company already has other projects underway. The exploration of natural gas reserves in the Rovuma Basin positions this region as one of the most promising areas for the energy industry in Southern Africa.
