The Government and the Electoral Board oppose suspending the electoral effects of the 'grandchildren's law' because it affects the voting rights of citizens

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General7 September 2026 at 09:54

The Government and the Electoral Board oppose the suspension of the electoral effects of the so-called "grandchildren's law". The State Attorney's Office and the Central Electoral Board, represented by a lawyer from the Courts, presented their arguments this Monday before the Administrative Litigation Chamber of the Supreme Court. The suspension would affect citizens' voting rights, as it would imply the interruption of the census elaboration and other electoral effects linked to this law.
