Now7 September 2026 at 09:18

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky received US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner in Kiev. This meeting marks the continuation of the United States' diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.

Before arriving in Kiev, the American representatives had met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow. This sequence of meetings demonstrates the United States' attempt to mediate between the two parties to the conflict.

After the meeting with the US envoys, Zelensky publicly thanked the United States for their support to Ukraine. The Ukrainian President expressed gratitude for the continuity of American involvement in the diplomatic process.

The US envoys are now seeking to relaunch negotiations to end the war in Ukraine, at a time when international diplomatic efforts for a resolution of the conflict are intensifying.
