The Association of Friends of the Diaspora and Madeiran Emigrants (AADEM) announced that it plans to distribute, in the coming weeks, 240 tons of humanitarian aid to Luso-Venezuelans affected by the double earthquake in August. The aid was raised in Portugal and will be sent to Venezuela.
The announcement was made by the president of AADEM, Moisés Rodrigues, who is currently in Caracas. His visit aims to handle the customs clearance process of the humanitarian aid and verify the capacity of local Portuguese associations to receive and distribute the goods.
The distribution operation involves several Portuguese associations in Venezuela, which will be responsible for ensuring that the aid reaches those affected by the earthquake that hit the country in August. AADEM coordinates the entire logistics process from Portugal.
