Princess Leonor arrived at the Carlos III University in Getafe, in the south of Madrid, on Monday morning, a few minutes before nine o'clock, to begin her degree in Political Sciences at the Adolfo Posada building. The presence of journalists, cameras, and photographers was altering the usual routine of the university campus from the start of the day.
The heir to the Spanish crown was received at the entrance of the building by members of the academic center's direction. Hundreds of nervous students were also crossing the campus that morning to attend the first classes of the course, although none of them had as much media attention as she did.
The intense journalistic coverage surrounded the entire event, with media professionals positioned from the early hours of the morning waiting for the princess's arrival. The contrast between the normal academic routine of the other students and the special attention dedicated to the presence of the future sovereign was evident on the campus.
