The Portuguese fund Biovance Capital led an €11 million investment aimed at developing vaccines against antibiotic-resistant bacteria, known as superbugs.
The Portuguese venture capital firm, dedicated to biotechnology, invested €4 million in the Spanish biotech company Vaxdyn, which is developing these innovative vaccines.
The investment comes amid growing global concern over antibiotic resistance, which represents one of the greatest threats to worldwide public health.
With this funding, Vaxdyn will be able to accelerate its clinical trials and advance research into vaccine solutions against infections caused by multi-drug-resistant bacteria.
