The area around Praça dos Três Poderes and Esplanada dos Ministérios in Brasília will have enhanced security for September 7th. The operation plans the installation of barriers around public buildings, restricted access to areas near the headquarters of the branches of government, monitoring by drones and real-time cameras, plus searches, roadblocks and airspace restrictions.
The planning is carried out jointly by federal and Federal District forces. The intelligence of the Secretaria de Segurança Pública do Distrito Federal (SSP-DF) monitors the organization of demonstrations planned for the date and is working with the possibility of simultaneous events. In this scenario, the plan provides for keeping distinct groups in separate areas to reduce the risk of confrontations.
The Supreme Federal Court (STF) is part of the operation and reported that the planning is being carried out jointly with SSP-DF, Comando Militar do Planalto, the Armed Forces, the Gabinete de Segurança Institucional (GSI) and the Agência Brasileira de Inteligência (Abin).
