Tony Tornado, 96 years old, went up to the Sunset Stage of Rock in Rio alongside the Minas Gerais band Jota Quest on the third day of the festival. The veteran singer and actor faced the rain and became the oldest artist to perform at Brazil's largest music festival.
The show was entirely dedicated to Tim Maia, the Rio-born musician who passed away in 1998 at age 55. Tony Tornado sang "Sossego," a Tim Maia classic, alongside his son Lincoln Tornado, also a singer, energizing the audience present.
Tony Tornado was recently in the cast of the soap opera "Êta Mundo Melhor!". This participation at Rock in Rio marks another highlight in the veteran artist's career, who has remained active even at 96 years old.
The festival broadcast is aired by Multishow starting at 3:15 PM, with shows from the Mundo and Sunset stages. Canal Bis also broadcasts starting at 3:50 PM, and Globoplay offers access for Premium plan subscribers.
