On the third day of Rock in Rio, during the Baiana System band's performance at Palco Sunset, part of the audience fell ill after the release of a spray of an unidentified substance. A person who was near a circle, a characteristic format of the Bahian band's shows, released the liquid into the air.
Symptoms included coughing, nausea, and difficulty breathing. Upon noticing the effects, a gap was opened in the crowd to facilitate the exit of affected people. About a hundred people were participating in the interaction at the time of the incident.
The episode occurred in the last set of the show, right after the band performed the song "Saci," which featured actress Alice Carvalho.
