Coach Rodrigo Bellão made three changes to Botafogo's starting lineup for Sunday's match, at 6:30 PM, at Nilton Santos Stadium. Justino, Edenilson, and Alex Telles (who is injured) left, and Lucas Monzón, Villalba, and Danilo Pereira came in. The white-and-black side abandons the three-center-back system used in the 3-0 loss to Flamengo and returns to betting on a center-back pairing, formed by Ferraresi and newly-signed Lucas Monzón.

In midfield, Huguinho, Danilo, and Montoro form the three-man line. The attack will be composed of Lucas Villalba, Danilo Pereira, and Arthur Cabral. On Palmeiras' side, Marlon Freitas and Alexander Barboza are starters in the team managed by Abel Ferreira.

Palmeiras suffered whistles from the fans during the warm-up on the pitch, with insults directed at midfielder Marlon Freitas, a former Botafogo player who was captain of the white-and-black side in the conquests of the Brazilian Championship and the 2024 Libertadores.

Sunday's match marks the first reunion between the two teams since Marlon Freitas left Botafogo to play for Palmeiras, a club for which he is already a starter.
