Since its first edition, Rock in Rio carries the mystique that the "roots" festival needs to happen under the rain. The images of the mud from 1985 remain in the collective memory of fans, as well as the chorus of "Love of my life" during Queen's show and the bloodied face of Bruce Dickinson, Iron Maiden's vocalist, who accidentally hit the guitar neck on his forehead during that historic edition.
On the first day of Rock in Rio 2026, on Friday (4), the sun showed its face at the City of Rock. However, since Saturday (5), the rain returned to fall at the venue and is expected to continue on Monday (7), probably also next weekend.
Fans of Sepultura, Black Pantera, Machine Gun Kelly, Bad Omens and Bring Me the Horizon have already gotten into the more "roots" vibe of the festival, with pogo circles and various rain ponchos bumping into each other during the shows on the Mundo Stage.
