Nordic full-back Alexander Bah suffered trauma to his right shoulder during a Benfica match in Madeira. The defender was injured after a spectacular fall on the goal line, leaving the pitch with his arm against his chest, an evident sign that something was wrong.
The substitution occurred at 17 minutes of play, with Polish winger Jakub Kaminski coming on in his place. The change was forced due to the severity of the injury that did not allow the Danish player to continue on the pitch.
The incident happened during an away match, in the autonomous region of Madeira, where Benfica were playing another game in the Portuguese league. The coaching staff had no alternative but to substitute the right-back after the injury.
The exact extent of the injury has not yet been confirmed, but the way Bah left the pitch suggests a right shoulder injury that could sideline him for a period yet to be determined.
