Turkey defeated Italy 3-2 in the final of the European Women's Volleyball Championship, held in Istanbul. The match was closely contested and resulted in the Turkish team winning the title of European champion for the second time, having previously won the competition.
The victory in the final also guaranteed Turkey qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. This achievement represents an important milestone for Turkish women's volleyball, which managed to combine the continental title with a spot at the next Olympics.
The two teams played a closely contested match, with all five sets being fought point by point. The Italian team, which was the opponent in the final, was also seeking the European title, but could not stop Turkey's victorious campaign at home.
