The Aqueduto da Amoreira, in Elvas, won on Saturday, September 5th, a place in the grand national final of the New 7 Wonders of Portugal, in the category of Major Works. This victory in the regional stage represents an important recognition for one of the most emblematic monuments of the Alentejo city.
The national final takes place on September 12th, when the Elvas monument will seek to win the title of one of the New 7 Wonders of Portugal. Built between the 16th and 17th centuries, the Aqueduto da Amoreira is considered one of the most impressive works of the city's monumental heritage.
