Cape Verde declares national mourning after bus accident that killed several children

The bus accident on Fogo island killed 25 people, most of them children and teenagers. The vehicle was carrying 39 people when it left the road and fell from a height of about 30 meters. In addition to the deaths, 14 young people were hospitalized, four of them in serious condition.

Cabo Verde declared national mourning as a result of this accident. Local authorities are still investigating the causes that led the vehicle to leave the road on Fogo island.
