Barão Vermelho, which returned to its original lineup last December for a special tour, opened the Rock in Rio World Stage this Sunday, the 6th. The classic lineup features Frejat on vocals, drummer Guto Goff, keyboardist Maurício Barros, and bassist Dé Palmeira. Fernando Magalhães, who was also part of the band in 1985, performs as a special guest in the show.
During the sound check on Sunday afternoon, while the band was playing "Maior abandonado," a screen paid tribute to Cazuza, showing images of the singer in old performances, alternating with the musicians on stage. Cazuza died in July 1990.
After Barão Vermelho's performance, several highly anticipated international artists take the same stage: Nelly, Black Eyed Peas, and the day's headliner, Calvin Harris. This was the first day of the festival to sell out all tickets.
