The Popular Party of Madrid, through its general secretary Alfonso Serrano, made a statement on Sunday in defense of real estate purchases by regional executives.
Serrano stated that no real estate purchase by a regional government can "cover up the corrupt practices and shady deals of the most nefarious and mafia-like government" that Spain has ever had.
The statement comes in a context of political controversy, in which Serrano defends that real estate acquisitions should not serve to hide corrupt practices of rival governments.
