Council of Cantanhede will create a multimodal interface next to the old railway station

Diário de Coimbra6 September 2026 at 15:35

The Cantanhede City Council will proceed with the creation of a multimodal interface near the municipality's old railway station. The project aims to improve the region's mobility infrastructure and facilitate the interconnection between different modes of transport.

The future interface will integrate the existing cycling network, thus allowing greater connectivity for bicycle users. This integration is part of a broader strategy to promote sustainable modes of transport in the municipality.

Additionally, the infrastructure will be designed to be ready to receive the Mondego Mobility System, which is being developed in the region. This advance preparation aims to ensure that Cantanhede will be connected to this mobility network as soon as it becomes operational.
