The government of Cabo Verde will decree two days of national mourning following a serious bus accident on the island of Fogo. Prime Minister Francisco Carvalho announced the decision, describing the accident as a tragedy of great magnitude.
The accident caused 25 deaths. The vehicle was carrying 39 people, and 14 young survivors are still in the hospital. Francisco Carvalho stated that two of these young people continue in a situation that requires more medical care.
The prime minister spoke about the tragedy in an interview with Cabo Verde Television, expressing the gravity of the event that led to the declaration of national mourning.
