UEFA punishes Bednarek with two games and Polish player misses trip to Seville

SAPO6 September 2026 at 11:31

The UEFA imposed a two-game suspension on Polish defender Jan Bednarek. The punishment comes after a disciplinary process initiated by the body that governs European football.

Due to this punishment, the player will miss the trip to Seville, where his participation in a UEFA-related match was planned.

The suspension dates back to last season, having been applied as a result of incidents that occurred during a European competition in the previous season.

The Polish defender, who plays for Southampton, thus sees his punishment confirmed and will not be able to play in the match in Spanish territory.
