The Dão Wine Fair, held in Nelas, includes among its most important moments the awarding of Gold and Honour medals to the best wines in the Red Wine, White Wine and Rosé Wine categories. This competition, which this year brought a major change in its name, is now called Grande Prémio Eng. Carlos, replacing the previous designation of Grande Prémio de Vinhos Eng. Alberto Vilhena.
The three producers that won Gold medals were Casa de Santar, Pedra Cancela and TAVFER. These wine companies were recognized for the quality of their wines in the competition that evaluates the finest productions of the Dão region.
The Grande Prémio de Vinhos is a traditional event of the Dão Wine Fair, where producers from the region have the opportunity to see their efforts in producing quality wines recognized. The awarding of these medals represents an important recognition for the participating wineries and for the Dão wine region.
