The University of Porto is present at the Porto Book Fair 2026, offering approximately 150 titles from the U.Porto Press imprint at booth number 133. Visitors can purchase works with discounts up to 80%, facilitating access to knowledge. The event runs until September 6 at the Crystal Palace Gardens, with free entry.
José Manuel Varejão, Vice-Rector of the University, highlighted that participation in the fair represents an opportunity to showcase the diversity of the institution's scientific areas, ranging from arts to science and culture. This year, U.Porto Press has scheduled four autograph sessions with authors of the exhibited works to connect with the public.
One of the sessions is scheduled for September 4, with Carla Garrido de Oliveira autographing the work "A Casa do Círculo," which tells the story of the building of the University Circle of Porto. The autograph cycle ends on September 5 with Paula Guerra, author of "Mulheres que Fazem Barulho," a book that pays tribute to the contribution of 16 women in Portuguese rock history.
