The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated on Sunday, September 6, that they attacked southern Lebanon in response to the launching of two drones by the Shia group Hezbollah against Israeli soldiers operating in the security zone in southern Lebanon. The soldiers managed to shoot down one of the drones and no injuries were reported among the military. The IDF considered the incident "a flagrant violation" by Hezbollah and stated they will continue to operate in the Lebanese zone to eliminate threats against Israeli civilians and soldiers.
According to data from the Lebanese Ministry of Health published on Friday, Israeli attacks caused the death of 4,353 people and injured 12,323 since March 2, shortly after the start of the US and Israel war against Iran. However, violence has decreased since the end of June, when direct talks between Lebanon and Israel began, mediated by the United States.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced on Friday the conquest of Ali Taher peak, a strategic elevation where, according to Israel, Hezbollah had an underground command center and weapons depots.
