The Socialist Party accused the Government of collecting more than one billion euros in revenue from rising fuel prices since the AD coalition took office. The accusation was presented by the PS parliamentary leader.
According to the socialist parliamentary leader, since March 2024, when AD took power, the price of gasoline rose six cents per liter and diesel increased nine cents per liter. These increases are said to have contributed to a significant increase in tax revenue for the State.
PS argues that the Executive has been financially benefiting from these price increases, which fall primarily on consumers and Portuguese families. The socialist opposition used this data to criticize the Government's policy on fuel taxation.
