A crowdfunding campaign created to support the parents of Lindsay Clancy, an American woman accused of killing her three children in 2023, exceeded $1.1 million (approximately R$ 6.1 million) after the trial ended without a verdict on Friday. The amount raised continues to increase as the case develops.
The campaign's initial goal, called "The Musgrove family fund," was raised from a lower amount to $3 million (approximately R$ 15.4 million) given the possibility of the legal proceedings extending. Lindsay Clancy's trial was declared null by the judge, meaning the case has not yet been resolved.
The campaign was organized by Brandee Mulligan with the goal of helping Mike and Paula Musgrove, Lindsay's parents, cover the costs of staying away from home while accompanying their daughter during the legal proceedings and psychiatric treatment. The family needs financial resources to sustain this extended stay during the trial phases and treatment.
