Abel Ferreira, Palmeiras' coach, obtained a suspensive effect from the Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD) and will be able to lead the team in the match against Botafogo, on Sunday, at Nilton Santos, for the Brazilian Championship. The reporting auditor of the case, Antonieta da Silva, granted the request for suspensive effect submitted by Palmeiras this Saturday.
The Portuguese coach had been punished with two matches of suspension for kicking a microphone on the sidelines during the draw between Palmeiras and Mirassol, in the 25th round of the Brasileirão. With the original punishment, Abel would have left the green-and-whites without their coach in the matches against Botafogo and São Paulo.
With this Saturday's decision, the two-match punishment applied to the coach is suspended until the judgment of the appeal by the Full Court, which is the last instance of national Sports Justice. Palmeiras appealed the original punishment and will await the final judgment to learn the verdict on the case.
