The organization of the Vuelta 2026 decided to modify the route of the 15th stage, scheduled for tomorrow, September 6, between Palma del Río and Córdoba. The change is due to the high temperatures forecast for the day, which are not expected to fall below 40 degrees Celsius.
The decision was made with the aim of preserving the health of the cyclists and guaranteeing the best possible conditions for the development of the competition. For this reason, the organization activated the weather protocol for this stage.
As a result, the Sunday stage was reduced from 189.7 kilometers initially planned to 110.2 kilometers, representing a significant cut from the original route.
