Businesswoman and influencer Fabiana Justus, daughter of businessman Roberto Justus and with over 4 million followers on Instagram, renewed her vows with her husband, businessman Bruno Levi D'Ancona, in Itacaré, on the southern coast of Bahia, on the second-to-last weekend of August. After the ceremony, the couple decided to take a mini honeymoon to celebrate the occasion.
For this trip, the couple chose Fernando de Noronha as their destination. However, upon arriving at the island for the September 7th long weekend, they discovered they had fallen for a scam. It was a fake hotel reservation, a scam known as the "fake hotel scam," which is becoming increasingly common in Brazilian tourist destinations.
Fabiana shared the details of the scam in a video published on her Instagram profile this Saturday (5). In the video, she recounts how the crime occurred, from the moment she was planning the trip and searching for lodging options to the discovery that the reservation was fake.
The case highlights the need for caution when making reservations on websites and platforms, especially in popular tourist destinations like Fernando de Noronha, where high demand for lodging can lead unsuspecting travelers to fall into fraudsters' traps.
