Danish midfielder Victor Froholdt, from FC Porto, will not take part in the home game against Manchester City, a first-round match of the Champions League. The absence is due to a cerebral concussion the player suffered during the match against Moreirense.
The information was confirmed to the Portuguese news agency Lúsa by a source from the Porto club. The player was forced to leave the field during the match with Moreirense after suffering the impact to the head.
With this absence, FC Porto loses one of its main options in midfield for the confrontation with the reigning European champions. The game is scheduled for next week and marks the start of the dragons' campaign in the lucrative competition.
This is not the first time FC Porto faces Manchester City in the Champions League, with the two teams having met in previous editions of the European competition.
